Description

Juilliene herself can always be seen with her tiny spectacles and little book companion - a huge grimoire that follows her around on its stubby little legs. She's often found fiddling with her eternally-damp flaxen hair. And yes, those are goat hooves under those garish robes.

- Juilienne, On meeting Juillienne

Heritage

A satyr of the Feywild, Juillenne knows no surviving parents, nor family, nor friends of her kind. She has already died once, and was saved only by the grace of the River Oceanus. She now serves at their whim.

Personality

Juillienne comes off as a charming, albeit nosey, woman with a love of music and a lust for knowledge. If there is information to be had that she does not already possess, she will pursue it relentlessly (leaving a trail of bodies if she has to). Her motives are, at best, indecipherable… whatever personal stake she may have once had has been replaced by the whims of her patron.

The defenceless demeanour given off by Juilienne is not only deliberate, but deliberately opaque. She wants people to know that she means business and that her charm is naught but a front. All the better for doing business with. She has no time for useless people.

The Chant

“Jyen” to her friend, Juilienne was born and raised in the Feywild, not that she’d remember that much. As a young faun the forces of Dissent hit her communities hard, turning frantic revelry to unchecked chaos and bloodshed. She was stabbed by a flautist and thrown into the river Oceanus, left to die in its depths.

But as her blood seeped into the waters, the Oceanus felt a grave injustice. Lashing out at Dissent, the River took this dying young faun and infused her with its powers. She rose from its depths, a Voice of the Fathomless given vessel to its vengeful spirit.

The less said about what happened to those who turned on her the better.

She came to Sigil soon after, seeking further power for the Fathomless. This drive took her to the Fraternity of Order, who promised her knowledge of law and knowledge of power. In part rebellion to her chaotic nature, and in part giving in to her bookish disposition, she took to the library and studied.

Seems she had a knack for politics too, as merely a dozen years later she was up for Factol. Her political opponents all pulled out, were disqualified due to technicality, or mysteriously disappeared, leaving her to run and win unopposed.
